Fernbank Museum of Natural History
While spending time at Fernbank, students will get to deepen their understanding of grade level GSE for science. Students will receive student-centered instruction to become better equipped to think about, and investigate, their knowledge of the natural world. Students will witness a screen presentation, self-guided tour and interactive show pertaining to your choice of Extreme Earth, Weather Wonders, or Reflections of Culture.
High Museum of Art
Students will take a STEAM-based program of study while at the HIGH. During this STEAM program, students will understand how creative problem solving is imperative for success in all STEAM subjects, using the High’s collection of artwork as a foundation. Students will make connections between how artists use creative problem solving to create their works and then will use their own creative problem-solving techniques to solve a group design challenge. This highly collaborative real world based project will be a fun, highly interactive lesson in how all STEAM subjects connect.
While visiting Zoo Atlanta, students will receive an interactive, instructor-led program that is paired with up-close animal encounters and fun educational activities that will take student learning to another level! Students will gain a better understanding of GSE standards as they learn about animals, classifications systems, and how environments play a critical role in animal adaptation.
Students will begin their exploration of the inhabitants of the Georgia Aquarium with an instructor led program. During this program, students will become better equipped to use research to solve essential questions regarding marine life and will become better equipped scientists. Following The program, students will have time to explore the Aquarium and use their newly acquired knowledge. Before departing, students will be able to witness the live dolphin show.
College Football Hall of Fame
Opened in August of 2014, the College Football Hall of Fame and Chick-Fil-A Fan Experience is a highly interactive museum devoted to the people, and teams who have made college football what it is today. During this museum tour, students will discover far more than the traditions and enthusiasm of the sport. The Hall of Fame works with teachers to ensure student groups take away valuable lessons about the importance of leadership and hard work while incorporating STEM based curricula.
World of Coca-Cola
While touring inside the World of Coca-Cola, your students will discover how Coca-cola has become the world’s most recognized product. Students will take a trip around the world through a breathtaking 4-D theatre experience, discover the intrigue behind Coca-Cola’s most closely guarded secrets while visiting the Vault of the Secret Formula, and explore more than 1,200 never-before-displayed artifacts.
Here, students will get exclusive, behind-the-scenes access to the world headquarters of CNN. Students will take a 50 minute, guided walking tour through the halls of the CNN Center and get a look at how a live broadcast is produced and sent to viewers all over the world. Students will also get a closer look at the operations of the world’s largest news organization. From the historic first newscast to the now living legacy, students will see how CNN became the worldwide leader in news!
Atlanta History Center
The Atlanta History Center is a history museum and research center located in Atlanta, Georgia. Here, students will have the opportunity to tour award-winning exhibitions, handle historic artifacts from the collection, and will be given the opportunity to experience the Georgia Standards of Excellence first-hand.
